Former Arsenal and Everton striker Kevin Campbell dies aged 54

Campbell was a key player for Arsenal in the early 1990s, scoring nine goals in 20 appearances as the Gunners won the old First Division title in 1990-91.

The former England international also had spells with Everton, Nottingham Forest and Leicester City, before retiring in 2005.

Campbell began his career with Arsenal, making his debut in 1988. He quickly established himself as a regular in the first team, and was part of the side that won the First Division title in 1990-91.

Campbell left Arsenal in 1995, joining Everton. He spent four years at Goodison Park, before moving to Nottingham Forest in 1999. He had a brief spell with Leicester City in 2002, before returning to Forest a year later.

Campbell retired from playing in 2005, and moved into punditry. He worked for Sky Sports and talkSPORT, and was a regular co-commentator for Arsenal matches.

Campbell died on 15 June 2024, at the age of 54, after a short illness.
